The environment is outstanding and gives very clean and soothing air. The northern mountains and the Himalayas form natural boundaries in the North and thus protect the country from foreign invaders. They act as a natural barrier to shut off the cold winds of Central Asia and save the people from severe cold. We know that India is the land of variety and diversity. The Himalayan mountain ranges extend from Nanga Parbat in Kashmir in the West to Namcha Barwa in Arunachal Pradesh in the East for a distance of about 2500 km and a width of about 250-400 km.

The weather is not pleasurable here but it is quite flattering and safe for trekking on a Valley of Flowers trekking trail. The main cause of rainfall is the cooling of air saturated with water vapour. Water vapour condenses on a large number of tiny dust particles floating in the air.
They together form clouds. These cloud droplets coalesce to form raindrops. Often very small drops of water about 0.5 mm in diameter fall on the Earth from clouds. These drops are so light that they float in the air and merely be felt. In tropical regions, clouds may attain great vertical extent. So the temperature of the cloud at the top falls below the freezing point of zero degrees Celsius.

The cooler the air, the lesser its moisture-holding capacity and further cooling will cause it to become saturated. At this point, the air releases the excess moisture which condenses to form dew. Therefore the point at which dew is formed is called dew point.
