My recent visit to Lingmala Waterfall, Mahabaleshwar was nothing short of magical. This stunning waterfall, nestled in the lush Western Ghats of Maharashtra, is a must-visit place if you are staying in Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani.

1. About Lingmala Waterfall

Lingmala Waterfall is located in Mahabaleshwar, Satara district. Lingmala falls from a height of 600 feet into the Venna Valley, which is surrounded by dense jungle. Lingmala Waterfall is one of the tallest waterfalls in Mahabaleshwar as well as in Maharashtra. My friends and I visited this place during the monsoon season, which you can consider the best season to visit the waterfall.

2. Best Time to Visit Lingmala Waterfall

The best time to visit is between July and September. These three months are the ideal time to experience Lingmala Waterfall at its fullest. Additionally, you can also enjoy a clear view during the winter season.

3. How to Reach Lingmala Waterfall

If you are in Mahabaleshwar, it is just 6 km from the Mahabaleshwar market, and from Panchgani, it is around 15 to 20 km. This waterfall is located on the Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani Road.

From Pune, Lingmala Waterfall is around 160 km, and it would take approximately 3 to 4 hours to reach.

From Mumbai, it’s close to 300 km, with a travel time of about 6 to 7 hours.

The nearest railway station is Satara Railway Station, which is 60 km away.

Visiting Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Once you reach the Lingmala Waterfall entry point, you need to buy a ticket to enter the trail area. It costs around ₹25 per person. From there, you’ll need to walk for about 15 to 20 minutes to see the beautiful Lingmala Waterfall. Once you reach the exact spot, you’ll witness the giant force of water falling directly into the valley of Mahabaleshwar—this view will mesmerize you. Although there’s a significant distance between_you and the waterfall, the water droplets will still make it one of the best moments of your trip.

Do not litter the place; carry your garbage with you or dispose of it in a dustbin.

Avoid taking selfies on the railing, as it might be dangerous.

Carry a raincoat or umbrella with you.
